Jonica Gibson

Although she has lived in the Washington metropolitan area for almost 25 years, Jonica was on the move every 4 to 5 years as a child, and thus beginning her experiences and interests in real estate. By the time she was 18, her family moved four times, each time packing and selling their home and moving to different parts of the country. This continued while she was in college and graduate school. And after college, she transplanted to the Washington DC area, where she experienced shopping for a home as a single person, with roommates, married without children, and married with children.

Through these experiences, she understands how important it is to balance a budget with the desired house size, reasonable commute times, and desired neighborhood amenities, and also how to consider that these needs may change over time. She still enjoys the thrill of the hunt for a home and attracting the right buyers to a home, and she is excited to work with clients to help them navigate through this experience. Prior to becoming a realtor, Jonica was a Project Manager and Team Leader for leading consulting engineering firms in Fairfax, Baltimore, and Germantown for almost 20 years.

Jonica also remains active in community activities, including serving as a member of the Stone Ridge School Board of Trustees, PTA Co-President at North Chevy Chase Elementary (2016-2017), and is a founding board member of RePicture Engineering. She is passionate about providing equitable opportunities in STEM for girls, young women, and anyone with an interest in the sciences. Jonica lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland with her husband Wayne, and their daughters, Reese, Avery, and Harper. She enjoys running, yoga, music, her book club, and spending time at home and at the beach with her family. She looks forward to working with you!
